Notice Periods by Province

• Ontario: Minimum 1 week per year of service, up to 8 weeks
• British Columbia: Minimum 1 week; contract usually specifies more
• Alberta: 1 week under 2 years; 2 weeks for 2 to 4 years
• Quebec: Governed by Act Respecting Labour Standards

Your Rights

• All earned wages must be paid to your last day
• Accrued vacation pay must be paid out
